election manifesto uk launch: as the campaign proper got underway, the conservative party chose the power station's unique boiler house venue (more) as the location for the public and media launch of the party's 2010 election manifesto. a huge influx of broadcast and press media arrived at the iconic london location as david cameron addressed voters and the press in a live, nationally televised broadcast from inside the boiler house. a major news media event, the venue's potential and capability for hosting live televised events was ably demonstrated. election night sky news hd first: due to unveil groundbreaking hd coverage of the 2010 election night and results, sky news were looking for an iconic building - and one of sufficient visual presence and sheer size - to use as the projection stage to premiere a completely new level of hd television projection graphics. as well as creating a spectacular supersize lightshow seen from across the thames, the power station appeared throughout sky's election results coverage, hosting live graphics. sky news producer kelvin o'shea comments, "the staff and management made working on the site a delight and problem free. for a location, there is so much to see and I would have no hesitation in directing any of my colleagues within sky to film there."
